Store and share files securely. Documents can be clinic-level (for your own records) or patient-level (visible to the patient in their portal).

11.1 Uploading a Document

Go to Documents → Upload (or from a patient's detail page → Documents → Upload).

Field Description
File PDF, images, Word, Excel, plain text, or CSV. Other file types are rejected at upload.
Name A descriptive name
Scope Clinic (your records only) or Patient (visible in patient's portal)
Patient If scope is Patient, select which patient

11.2 Previewing a Document

Click the eye icon to view a document without leaving the app. On the web this opens a preview window; in both mobile apps it opens an in-app viewer. Patients get the same preview in their portal and in the patient app.

Which files preview:

Format Preview Notes
PDF (.pdf) Yes The common case — certificates, forms, reports
Images (.png, .jpg/.jpeg, .webp, .heic) Yes Any image type
Everything else (.csv, .json, Word, Excel, plain text, …) No Download only

Files that can't be previewed simply don't show the eye icon — nothing breaks, and the Download button always works for every format. Preview links are re-issued each time you open one, so a page left open for a long time still works.

11.3 Downloading a Document

Click the document name or the Download button. Downloads use secure time-limited links (presigned URLs) — they expire after a short period. On mobile, Download opens the system share sheet, so you can save the file to Files, send it on, or open it in another app.

11.4 Deleting a Document

Click the Delete icon. This removes both the database record and the file from storage.
